Hey Guys,

We are all excited about the upcoming conferences in July and early August. We have been feeling the drawing of the Lord to go deeper in this season as we set our hearts to pursue His dreams for this generation. We are believing God for geat breakthroughs, please join us in prayer for a significant time together.

As you will see on the flyer we will be having two different conferences. One for 16 and older on July 16th - 19th and ages 13 - 15 years old on July 30th - August 2nd. Please get your young people together and send in the names and ages as early as possible. This will help us for better planing and each young people can save $10.00 by registering early.

Alright everyone....!!!Bring out your dusty tennis, get a team together and head to YWAM for the Legacy Sports Day Saturday, 24th January 10:00!

You have a couple weeks to prepare for the football and volley ball competition. Teams can register at legacybelize@gmail.com for $5 per team or you can just come and cheer them on! We will have lots of food for sale (BBQ $6, juice, snacks, etc, etc...!)

Pre-purchase BBQ tickets for your family and friends to secure a delicious plate of food. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards purchasing a sound system for Legacy. See ya there!

July Conference Update - 2008

Covenant! That was the over-arching focus of this summer’s Legacy youth conference as youth streamed in from 4 districts till about 70 were present – representing almost all the ethnic groups of Belize plus internationals, and some new churches participated. With the theme ‘Exodus: Join the Line.”

Couple groups from the south braved the threat of flooded/washed-away bridge(s) and with the economic crisis all around, funds for participants to attend were limited. Yet determined kids worked – one group selling panades in their village - to raise the funds to be able to attend! They were not disappointed – our faithful God met them there – and all the youth were aglow as they left on Saturday when the conference closed with series of prayers of anointing over all those attending.

Legacy’s role is to be a cutting-edge tool in discipling young people in the ways of God, developing consistency in their daily walk with lives that reflect the values of the Kingdom of God.

The new DTS students served as junior-leaders, and speakers included internationals from Norway, Trinidad and Tobago, alongside those from Belize.

Highlights & Testimonies:

God continues to do a new thing! Christian Dance was released during worship alongside artistic sketching
One first-time attender mentioned how she has been very rebellious to her parents and after her time at Legacy, she feels she can return home and be different.
One boy mentioned how a teaching he had received at Legacy a couple years ago about “Bad company corrupting good character” had really challenged him to make changes in his associations. His young relative had attended Legacy also with him, but had chosen to continue living in gang warfare, and currently lives a violent lifestyle. He has been sobered by the downhill path of his relative and saw what a difference obeying the truth he heard at Legacy has caused for his own life. Also, he found grace to forgive his parents for favoritism, drunkenness and threatening to abandon the family.
Another girl shared how after being convicted by the Lord and then hearing the young boy’s testimony, she began quickly deleting phone numbers in her cell phone and wiping out contacts.
Another boy shared how he had been healed from back pain during prayer at Legacy.
Several youth were shy or restricted/heavy during worship when they first arrived, but found that during their time there, grew freer to express their worship to God.

The youth were challenged by the Word and messages, and were prayed for that they would see clearly – no scales on their eyes – and live the upright lives in intimacy with God, that would enable this generation to have the voice and authority needed to impact their times.It was wonderful to see the youth - some who are Christians but in compromising or ungodly states - now taking a serious look at their choices and the direction they’re headed – including their sexual purity. They asked questions and got prayer in small group times and all-guy/all-girl sessions, and processed their expectations and desires for their spiritual walk, or in one-on-one times with leaders. A key point was a special time of prayer at the end of the conference addressing the dynamics of purity in boy-girl relationships and incorporating what was learned on covenant. Firstly, the girls as a group prayed around the guys and then it was reversed – as steps continue to be put into place to help our youth learn commitment to protect and view their brothers and sisters not just in the light of “objects.”

Introducing Outreach @ Conference

One aspect not done before during the actual Legacy conference till now, was community outreach. A heart for serving, the importance of work-ethic and our individual responsibility for the world were presented to the youth as the Great Commission was introduced.

Over 90% of them had never led someone to the Lord, evangelized nor done any kind of outreach service, so it was a stretching time for them. Some brief training was done in preparation and 7 sub-groups were created to go out into the neighbouring communities of Roaring Creek and Belmopan. Neither the pouring rain nor the bus getting stuck in the mud could stop the groups launching out! It was amazing that as one group in their van were picking up the keys for the widow they were to serve, that they were hearing their comrades being interviewed live on Christian radio telling what God had been doing through their lives at Legacy.

Meanwhile, another group had the multiple kids of a poor family hanging onto them while they assisted the mom with her steep list of chores, and yet another group at two orphanages were interacting with the kids including creative skits and giving touching testimonies. One of the Legacy attenders himself was from an orphanage and was out serving the community. A group of the youth out in the wards at the hospital met with patients, while another group was pouring cement at a church/doing basic construction. Most of the groups also criss-crossed the village doing street/conversational evangelism. At least two teams were able to lead someone to Christ during their community outreach time, and since neither had done that before, it was certainly new and exciting for them. Most of the youth reported how pleased they were to have been able to go out there despite being scared at first, and how surprised they were that adults let them pray for them!

We continue to look forward to what God wants to do in the lives of the youth in establishing pegs to seeing the generation change toward godliness in Belize and to the ends of the earth!

Legacy July Youth Conference

Hey everyone!

The Legacy Conference is rapidly approaching and we are eager to see you all! We believe God is ready and willing to pour out His Spirit on all of us so let's continue to pray and fast for our youth and for this time together. Final preparations are being made and we need to hear back from YOU with information about who you're bringing.

Please print out the registration forms attached and pass on to each of the youth attending the conference. Registration forms and fees can be brought to YWAM to secure your spot for the conference. Space is limited and we will be accepting registration forms on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have not done so already please make note and communicate the new dates for this conference: Wednesday, July 16-19 after lunch.

Registration begins at 8:00am on Wednesday morning. With this in mind, if you are coming from far away and would like to stay at YWAM on Tuesday night, please contact us as soon as possible so arrangements can be made. We have an early registration time in order to maximize our time together.

March Conference Update

Well, our hearts are over flowing with gratitude to our God for His wonderful presence which was evident in our last Legacy gathering. There were young people from over 20 different churches, a total of about 150 students and staff. (Housing and feeding that many people was a challenge and our hats are off to the crew at YWAM for taking up the challenge and doing a fabulous job!) We are convinced that the Holy Spirit did minister to the hearts of all who attended the conference last weekend, including the staff who were blessed to experience the closeness of the Lord. Often during the Legacy conferences we are driven to our knees, weeping at the intensity and passionate worship arising to the Father from these young people. They truly desire more of God and desperately want to bring honor to Him in their daily lives. We are witnesses to the continual progression of what God is calling these young people to. It's beautiful to see the growth and maturity in some of the young people that we've known since the beginning of Legacy over 4 years ago.

Many of these young people are now heading into University. We feel the next four years will be some key years for us as we seek to prepare this generation to be influential in ever sphere of society. By the grace of God we see vision and purpose in the eyes of these young people.

We are looking forward to the upcoming events this year, including a local outreach in Belize this summer with the young people and international outreach to Barbados with some of the youth leaders. Also, we have four more conferences planned for this year and will continually visit the youth groups and walk through the challenges of life with them. We are praying for God's wisdom in addressing issues that are presently facing this generation.

Thank YOU for your prayers for these young people in Belize. God has done tremendous works in their hearts and your prayers of faith have brought about incredible changes in their lives. This past Legacy conference was very successful and we give thanks to God for friends like you who dare to believe that this generation can walk in holiness before their God.

We pray that you all are standing strong in this season receiving the grace of God that comes as we remain in Him. Together we fight for the dreams of God to become a reality in our Nation. We hope you received the email readout from the last conference. As you know because of the large number of young people attending the conferences we split into two age groups. We are looking forward to our next conference in November for the younger age group. We continue pushing forward for the destiny of our nation as we take practical steps in seeing this generation empowered with Truth which will revolutionize the way we live our life. God has a destiny for our Nation but we must deliberately seeking His heart. We hope that these times in our Legacy conference will serve to connect our young people and enable them to lay a hold of the dreams of God for their life.

The theme for this Legacy conference will be "free to pursue your God given destiny." We believe that God is wanting to bring greater freedom to this generation which will enable them to freely pursue the destiny God for their life.

The cost of this conference is $45.00. A registration fee of $10.00 should be turned in along with the name(s) of the applicant(s) attending by the November 5th cut off date for the conference. LYM October Conference Readout

Thank you all so much for praying for the Legacy Conference last weekend. It was an incredible time, below is a readout of the time together! We are so thankful that you believe God with us and fight for the upcoming generation of young leaders. What a blessing it its to give ourselves for God and others.

The conference began Friday evening with students arriving in the rain... again! You may notice that it rains the first day of EVERY Legacy conference! We are confident that it's God's confirmation that we're moving in the right direction! There were about 70 youth from a number of different churches including one new church that we've never connected with before. We emailed you a few weeks back about the decision to split the Legacy Conferences into 2 different age groups. (Thank God for His wisdom as we would have been overwhelmed if we had both ages groups!) We believe this strategy will help maintain a more solid, consistant standard of discipleship, giving more contact time with each youth. We also wanted to give opportunity to some of the stronger, older youth to help facilitate and serve in the November Conference for the younger age group. The response to that offer was overhelming and so encouraging, it looks like we'll have some helpers for the November conference! We are eager to begin working alongside these youth and multiply the truths and values God has given us.

The theme for the conference was "Free to Persue Your God Given Destiny". We invited Pastors from local churches to share with the youth. The message was precise and consistant throughout the whole weekend. There was special emphasis on the decision and choices that affect the different decades of our life. The challenge was put forth over and over to be "all out" for God leaving no room for mediocrity and walking the middle ground. Sunday night worship and response time finally had to be cut off at midnight, much to the youths dismay! There was such passion and transparency during the worship times, sessions and small groups! What a blessing to witness the cry of these young people and to see God come answer them individually, and corporately!

As you know the DTS was involved with the conference as well preparing, serving and helping to lead the small groups. They were SUCH a blessing and it would have been extremely difficult without their help. The youth took up an offering for the DTS outreach and gave $1,035.00! With joy these young people gave, some of them even solidified a call to "go" in this session! A number of young people approaced us later sharing their desire to do a DTS next year or in 2009! So exciting! Finally, on Monday we sent them back to their home, back to their churches to serve and live the life God intends for them to live. Again, what a joy and a blessing to be a part of what God is doing in the nation of Belize. We are eternally grateful to Him and thankful for your joined faith. To God be the glory....

What a privilege to be in cooperation with Father God in reaching out to His people. God is raising up an army of young men and women in our Nation, He is laying deep foundations of truth within the heart of this generation in Belize. It's His truth that will truly set captives free – free from wrong mentalities, fear, insecurities; who then will be released to loving obedience, to pursue a loving Father that is totally ravished over us.

We want to say a special thanks to all of you who stood with us in faith and prayer for the last four years since the beginning of Legacy. I pray that you share in the great joy with us as you see some pictures from last weeks conference, and know that hearts are being changed.

July Conference Update

We as Legacy have set our hearts daily to see the Kingdom of God advance in our Nation and the Nations of the earth, as we know full well that God is deserving of all men to turn to Him in full repentance. By the grace of God, we are chipping away at seeing the vision God has placed in our hearts manifested in the lives of the youth in Belize - "A consistent stable generation that knows their God and brings forth change in the nations of the earth."

We had just about a hundred young people together with the Legacy leaders at the conference two weeks ago (from about 15 different churches). A passionate cry arose from the hearts of these young people; weeping, seeking and crying out to God for revival and to know Him better. I am convinced that the cry of this generation of young people will NOT go unanswered by our most loving and wise God, for He will respond to the cry of this Generation.

It was a privilege to have Larry Allen with us to speak the Truth of who God is and of His great love toward us. Even weeks after whenever I talk with some of the young people they are still talking of how much they see the love of God toward them - that it is a choice of His heart to love them and that He is committed to their highest good in all of His actions.

Some nuggets from the teaching: God command us to Love... You can't command an emotion so if God in His intelligence and wisdom gives us a command, its obvious that is a choice & we can do it. As we make that choice, the emotions come behind to follow behind that choice. How awesome because that means that God chooses to love us first! An analogy of a truck was used... the choice being the small front steering and the emotion being the huge trailer at back. Emotions can't lead your life... its choices base on truth - God's truth. But imagine this, If the choice is the small section at the front, and God already chose, think about the massive amount of emotion coming behind God's choice. And it's all heading towards us... He burns with passion and love for us.

It was also a time of war in the spiritual realm but God used the enemy's resistance to bring us closer together as a team of Legacy Leaders and also in bringing more clarity for future conferences. We know that the fruit from these times will be lasting thanks to all of you who have been praying with us. Your prayers are being answered. Because of the growth we will have to break our conferences into different age groups. Please be praying for us, for wisdom as we move forward in this.

Testimony - Jennine Warrior

Coming to legacy is been an exciting adventure as i call it and a journey worth taking . I'm a young Christian that i was introduce to God at the age 13 and ever since then I've been growing in God. In my Christian walk I've been in places i thank God I have over come to this that. There have been times when I wanted to walk away from God and just live the life of this world . I could remember when I was about 10 years old and my mom had first introduced me to this man. I built this amazing relationship with him, a few years later my mom told me that he was my biological father. That hurt me a lot and that was around the time I became a Christian. I was so confused and just overwhelmed with this anger and hatred towards her. I knew I had to deal with situation but there was just something in me that just didn't want to let go. Amongst everything I had to deal with the fact that I was being tempted in many others ways. When I came to legacy I was very hurt and still holding on to anger as if it was my friend but then I found the true love of God.

For me my life has changed in ways i can't even explain. The feeling of Gods presents in my life really fills that empty space i was looking for. When i first came to legacy i felt as if i was just this ordinary girl but God has made me feel like i was worth it. He gave me the confidence and deep affection to want more of him. I always wanted to feel that love for God the way others expressed towards him but now feel like I'm reaching this spiritual growth that I'm still trying to grasped the idea. Right now God is like my best friend, I get to really expressed myself like Mr Larry said "to know God on a personal level". Right now since I've been back from legacy I'm definitely making really good choices now and just walking my true journey.

well I feel alive and free and now i am set free.

My advice is for youths out there is just to continue your walk with God and believe that he will never let you go even when you let him go.

Last year when I first attended Legacy Youth Conference, I didn't know what to expect. Honestly, I thought that it was just another youth camp. But my perception of what Legacy was would soon be changed. My first night into the worship session was like something from out of a horror movie. To see teenagers act like that: praising and worshiping God so passionately. I thought to myself while watching them with a really scared look on my face, "...Lunatics!!!" I'm proud to say that by the end of that week in Legacy, I too was a Lunatic. We were all Jesus Freaks.

That week was nothing like I have ever experienced. It was extremely radical, both in the teachings and in the worship. I too was bowing my knees before God in total awe of Him, I too was actually writing notes in a teaching session. I couldn't even believe myself, "Am I actually doing this?" But I was, for I was changed, never to be the same again. I didn't care what anybody else would say about me, because God deserves the glory. Legacy was a week filled with breakthroughs after breakthroughs. I didn't think that I was capable of letting go so many wrong things in my life. I was dumbfounded by the awesomeness (if there is such a word) of God, literally stopped in my tracks by his sheer presence. It was truly amazing.

Ever since then, my youths can tell you how much I encouraged them to attend the other Legacy. When I see them also worshiping God in a passionate way, it fills my heart with encouragement and hope for this generation...and also I little bit of pride. Legacy is something that I, and I'm quite sure everyone else who attended, will never forget.

For me it was when that young man from George town got bold and made a public statement to save himself for marriage because he now knew god's plan for his life. I realized that the Holy Spirit moved in his life and that Legacy broke thru to this young man. ' if for one lost lamb,' he was worth it. I like to see young men step up.

we must pray that he is keep tender to the lord and that the devil not infiltrate his life and mind.

Greetings, I hope this finds you happy and healthy wherever you may be. I'm excited of what god has done in my life in legacy conference 3 weeks back I was overwhelm of how much he love me and of how he care for me too. And that we are very valuable we have a God-given value. I just love this; God love is choosing the highest goods.

So yeah that week for me is just surrendering to God, all my wants and care to him, taking down the wall that is holding me from hearing God so that week was closing door, cracks wholes, etc; everything and also taking out the things that does not belong inside of me. An act of surrendering to him by choosing what is right. We can’t live a double life but we’ve got to make a choice we must desire what God wants and love what God love and hate what He hates.

Here’s the truth that has challenged me… intelligence demands that we choose what is most valuable, I would never pay $20 for and old stick if I had to buy a car, for that same amount. Since God is the most valuable and intelligent being in the universe, I would be something less than intelligent if I didn’t choose to submit to God and make Him lord of my life..

Greetings,
In an era where lawlessness seems to have increased, and the love of many have grown cold; God is searching the earth looking for those whose heart remains tender towards Him… Those who have abandoned all in pursuit of knowing Him, His heart, His love: those in "Abandoned pursuit of Jesus."

We're excited to announce the LYM summer conference coming this July 23-28. The LYM Team invites you & your youths to this conference as we continue to make steps towards seeing this generation impacted with God’s truth and be empowered to be faithful witnesses for Him in this hour. By the Grace of God, the conference will be an intensive time where teens can draw near to God in worship, receiving input/truth that will enable them to walk consistently in pursuit of Jesus. It’s a time where youths can fellowship and process hard challenges & do that within daily small groups. It’s a time where youths can be refreshed, challenged and equip… We're believing God for this time to be a life-changing experience for all those who attend.

The theme of the conference is "Abandoned Pursuit of Him... understanding the reality of God & His passionate pursuit for you." Even as you read this, ask the Holy Spirit to start pointing out areas in your own heart that He wants to touch and change. As you come to the conference, set your heart completely on connecting with God and allowing Him to pierce your heart with the Power of His Word, His Truth, His presence.

The cost of the conference is $55.00 BZ which includes all activities, 3 meals a day, lodging, and materials. A $5.00 non-refundable deposit per teen is required with application form by July 19^th (deadline). A late registration fee of $8.00 will be charge for applicants after the deadline date.

We were really bless by what God did in your lives during the March Legacy Conference. It was such a blessing just seeing you guys crying out to God... reaching out to Him. God is moving and stirring a greater hunger and longing within our hearts and He's thrilled when we choose to direct those longings to Him. Be Encourage! Whatever might be your biggest challenge, whether you are dealing with personal conflict stuff at home or standing for truth at your school, whether your cry is for growing deeper with God “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary” (Galatians 6:9) Please don’t give up so easily and give in to stuff that affect your relationship with God. You guys are a blessing and we love you all and want to see you make it. “Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life.” (Philippians 2:15). We will stand with you guys, pray for you and be good example for you to follow after.

Be Encourage! Remember a Treasure Chest? The enemy would be glad to have us just take all the great nuggets of teaching & high experiences with the Lord that we received during the time, and just lock them up in a beautiful treasure chest once we cross over the bridge (YWAM), and put it away ... Never walk out any of it. If we only view the input as "valuable" but never put it into action, we won't get the consistent, Godly lifestyle and passionate walk with God which is the heart desire of Legacy. keep your eyes on the finish. With His goal before you, and the right heart and focus, just like Scott encouraged you: other
distractions will look like a plate of dog poop compared to God's best for you. Don't let anything rob you of the consistent passionate love walk with your heavenly Father...

Be Encourage! know that one of the key thing for you is to walk in openness with areas you are struggling. We are in some heavy times of warfare and we MUST be wise and spent appropriate times in prayer and reading the word. We need to be desperate and ask the Lord to speak to us from His word to strengthen us. The Lord has the power to lead us through this season. We must spend quality time in prayer. The bible says there is a time when kings go to war and I believe we are in that time. War is nasty, and we have to allow the man in us to rise us and defeat the powers of darkness that rage war against us.

I just want to say that this legacy conference was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i loved it soooooooooooooo mucha nd now i feel like a completely different person. i really received alot and im actually happy... i wasnt happy before honestly not really so now this feeling is so new and wonderful so i say thank u for having this and thank u to all the leaders and thank u for
the prayers and of course i thank God! I'm from the Corner Stone Fellowship Church AKA the Bahong crew hahaha yea we were the loudest ones there but we all received and we all come home as different people................thank u alot and im looking forward to being there again in July

Well so thank you and again to all who spoke to us thank u because i know u touched my heart

March Conference Testimonies

We are really excited to see what God did in the heart of the youths during the conference. Below are a few Testimonies from the Conference. (names are deleted for privacy purposes)

Testimony 1

From: Independence Youth Leaders

I wanted to first say thanks to all of you who did so much work to bring the conference together. and a second thanks to the leadership who allowed us to not only bring the team in for only one night, but then to trust us and let us leave the kids we brought to the conference without us there. thanks from our hearts...

I just wanted you all to know that the kids came back glowing and full of testimonies. i have yet to hear them all, but in particular was a young girl's testimony about how she came home and sold her cell phone and threw out about 10 cds. she was so overjoyed at how quickly she responded to what she felt god speaking to her and knew it was right. it was all about the obedience and she was so excited to hear from god and then respond immediately.

I only wish i could have been there to experience the weekend with them. I have a praise report from down south as well...with the team from Dallas here we were able to do a lot and praise god that over 30 kids prayed to receive the Lord, 3 young men got water baptized, one that i know of got filled with the holy spirit and several took steps to get closer to the Lord. how awesome is that??
we are excited about what God is doing down this way and we know that the fruit of what our "core" kids are learning there at Legacy and getting to experience has a lot to do with the groundwork that is being laid.

Thanks again to all and we can't express our gratitude enough for your hospitality Jason (and Sara!) as well as to Santi and Lilliana for housing us! we really do feel like family when we are there at YWAM.
